A message from Dr. Joe - Toronto Family Dentist for Children..
Need a West Toronto Children's Dentist for Kids?
You've come to the right place! We love kids and are happy to offer children's dental care. Many of us here at Royal York Dental are parents with children of our own.
We see lots of West Toronto families here. People of all ages love our comfortable, convenient approach to dental care.
Comfortable Children's Dental Care
As a Toronto Children's dentist, I want to make sure your child has a fun experience. Visiting the dentist is a family event and we want to make sure it's pleasant and relaxing for you and your family.
No upsets, no drama.
What matters most to your family? If you're like many families, it's convenience and comfort. We totally understand that. Families want to be in and out so they can get on with their busy lives.
Our team of gentle, experienced hygienists can accommodate family members simultaneously rather than sequentially. That means much less time spent waiting.
For Parents
We want your family time at the dentist to be comfortable and relaxing. If your child is hungry, he or she can enjoy some snacks or beverages from our Refreshment Bar.
As Toronto family dentists, our goal is to create child-friendly experiences that support your child in staying healthy and cavity-free. We'll guide your child on proper home care. Those good hygiene habits we can help reinforce today will benefit your child for the rest of their lives.
For Young Children
We want your visit to Royal York Dental to be a fun adventure. We have a playroom just for you, including hi-def TV with movies and PlayStation3 to keep you entertained.
Children's dental care should be fun!
For Teens
We want your visits to be fast and super easy. We know you would rather do other things with your time, like hang out with friends. We'll make it easy for you. You can drop in after school or come in on a school break. We'll work around your hectic schedule.
As a teen, you don't really fit into the mold of hildren's dental care, but you're still vulnerable to cavities. We'll guide you on how to stay healthy and cavity-free.
For Young Adults
You've probably got big time-demands from school and work. We'll fit appointments into your busy life.
If you're an out-of-town university student, we can accommodate you whenever youre back home.
As Toronto family dentists, we're proud to say that we've helped many young adults grow up cavity-free.

Choosing Your Family Dental Care
When choosing your family dental care, their are some important things that you must remember. You have to make sure it's a friendly kid environment and an environment for adults, you have to make sure your insurance will cover it, you should make sure that it's in close driving range, and you have to make sure their hours are flexible with your schedule.
Most dentist offices have things to do for kids to keep them entertained while they wait for their parents to get done with their teeth cleaning. They usually have books for older children or toys for little kids. Customer service is always a key factor when you go in any place because you wouldn't want to go in a dentist office when the receptionist is not being very nice to you or if the dentist hurts you in anyway possible.
If a dentist hurts you, it's not because he did it on purpose even though that's mainly what little kids think when they go for their first check up. Most dentists even tell you to let them know if you feel any pain whatsoever especially when you're going through things like having a root canal done or a cavity being filled. That's the kind of customer service you would expect to find in a dentist office or any business for that matter.
Whether you pay for your insurance or you have a company insurance plan that takes a certain amount of money from your checks every couple weeks, it's important to find a dentist that will cover your insurance. Things like having a root canal done, having any kind of surgery on your teeth, or even getting your teeth bleached can cost a lot of money.
If you're getting insurance through the company you work for, most companies have a packet that tell you all about the insurance you've chosen. You might want to choose the family plan if you have a husband and kids or you might just want to get the cheapest single plan for yourself. Either one you choose will come with a list of all the dentists that are covered by your insurance in your area. If you don't get insurance through your company for whatever reason, make sure that the dentist office you choose will accept your insurance. That should be one of the first things you ask when choosing your family dental care.
A good thing is to make sure that the dentist you have chosen is in a good driving range from your house. You wouldn't want to drive two hours to a dentist that was recommended by a family friend if you have a dentist office just around the corner from your house. Plus if you have kids and your driving too far from your house, they can be cranky by the time the dentist is ready to see them and it wouldn't end pretty.
Before you decide on a family dentist, you should think about their hours. Some dentists have crazy hours; some dentists work on Saturdays. It depends on how your schedule is at work. You could have just started a new job and wouldn't want to ask for time off already or you might work in a hectic place and your boss needs you there all the time. If you have a schedule that's too busy to go to the dentist, then be sure to pick a family dentist that works on Saturdays.
Obviously these things are only some of the things that you should put into consideration before you start choosing your family dental care. These are the things most people find they put the most thought into. Their are probably more things as well that you probably thought of. Don't hesitate to add them to the list.
